Irfan Khan

I design, build and ship end-to-end products — polished cross-platform apps on Flutter and React, backed by resilient Node.js services. Five years of taking features from a blank file to the App Store, Google Play and production traffic — including payment gateways, health-kit integrations, release pipelines and the long-term maintenance that keeps apps alive.

01 — About

Engineering that survives contact with real users.

I'm a senior software engineer with five years of full-stack and mobile experience, focused on products that have to run every day — not just demo well.

Most of my work starts on mobile: Flutter apps for iOS and Android where the details matter — offline states, native permissions, maps, push, secure auth, and a UI that feels like it belongs on the platform. Behind them I build the Node.js and Express APIs, model the data in MongoDB or MySQL, and wire in the third-party pieces clients actually depend on: payment gateways, Apple HealthKit and Google Fit, notifications, and analytics.

I also own the unglamorous half of the job. I've taken apps through App Store and Play Console review, set up build and release pipelines, monitored crashes and performance after launch, and stayed on for months of maintenance — migrating SDKs, closing security gaps and shipping steady improvements while the app stays live.

I work best as a long-term technical partner: clear estimates, readable code, small reviewable increments and no surprises at release time.

02 — Expertise

What I'm brought in to do.

Six areas where I take full ownership, from architecture to the release notes.

Cross-platform mobile apps

Flutter apps for iOS and Android from a single, maintainable codebase — clean state management, native integrations, offline handling and pixel-accurate UI.

  • Flutter · Dart
  • Native platform channels
  • Maps, camera, push, deep links

Backend & API engineering

Node.js and Express services with sane data models, authentication, role-based access and documented REST endpoints that mobile and web clients can trust.

  • Node.js · Express
  • MongoDB · MySQL
  • JWT auth · RBAC · caching

Payments & integrations

Checkout that holds up under real money: gateway integration, tokenised cards, webhooks, refunds, reconciliation and failure paths that never leave an order in limbo.

  • Payment gateway integration
  • In-app purchases & wallets
  • Webhooks & idempotency

Health & connected data

Apple HealthKit and Google Fit integrations for clinical and wellness products — permissions done properly, background sync, and privacy-conscious data handling.

  • HealthKit · Google Fit
  • Appointments & medical records
  • Consent & secure storage

Release engineering & CI/CD

Build pipelines, signed release flows, staged rollouts and store submissions — so shipping is a routine Tuesday rather than an all-nighter.

  • CI/CD pipelines & automated builds
  • App Store & Play Console releases
  • Versioning, flavors & env configs

Production support & improvement

Post-launch ownership: crash triage, performance profiling, SDK and OS migrations, security fixes and a steady drip of improvements informed by real usage.

  • Monitoring & crash analytics
  • Performance & cost optimisation
  • Long-term maintenance retainers

04 — Selected work

Apps live in people's hands.

Four products I helped build, launch and keep running — healthcare, on-demand services, mobility and delivery.

Project 01 — Healthcare

My IMC

Secure patient access to the right level of care.

A patient companion app for International Medical Center. Patients search by clinic, symptom or doctor, view consultant profiles, book in-person or virtual appointments against live availability, and keep their reports and medical history in one place — all behind hardened authentication.

  • Clinic, symptom and doctor search with live slot booking
  • Medical reports, appointment history and profile management
  • Secure auth, multilingual (English / Arabic) interface
  • Released and maintained on both stores
  • Flutter
  • REST APIs
  • Secure auth
  • Push notifications
  • iOS & Android

Project 02 — On-demand services

CarWishha

The fastest, most hygienic car wash — booked from your phone.

An on-demand car wash marketplace. Customers pick a package, drop a pin, choose a slot and pay in-app; operators get a live job queue with status updates. Built as a full customer journey from guest browsing through payment to rating.

  • Location-based booking with scheduling and live job status
  • In-app payments, wallet and promo handling
  • Guest mode, OTP sign-in and profile management
  • Shipped to Play Store and App Store, maintained post-launch
  • Flutter
  • Node.js
  • Payment gateway
  • Google Maps
  • iOS & Android

Project 03 — Mobility

Wahonda

The motorcycle taxi app built for convenience and community.

A two-wheeler ride-hailing and parcel delivery app. Riders and passengers share one codebase with a mode switch: book a ride, find a nearby taxi rank, or send a parcel — with live map tracking and fare estimates throughout.

  • Ride booking, rank discovery and parcel delivery flows
  • Live Google Maps tracking, geolocation and fare estimates
  • Dual passenger / rider mode in a single app
  • Live on Google Play
  • Flutter
  • Google Maps
  • Realtime tracking
  • REST APIs
  • Android

Project 04 — Food delivery

GreenDel Delisted by owner

Online food ordering and delivery, end to end.

A food delivery platform covering the full loop: browse restaurants and menus, customise an order, pay, then track the courier to the door. Included the restaurant-side order pipeline and delivery assignment.

  • Menu browsing, cart and order customisation
  • Order tracking with courier assignment
  • Online payments and order history
  • Android
  • Firebase
  • REST APIs
  • Payments

06 — How I work

A predictable path to release.

  1. 01

    Scope & architecture

We agree on what ships first. I map the flows, choose the stack honestly and give you a plan with real estimates before any code is written.

  2. 02

    Build in increments

Weekly, testable builds on your device. Small reviewable commits, clean architecture, and screenshots or a walkthrough with every increment.

  3. 03

    Harden & release

Edge cases, error states, performance and security passes — then store assets, signed builds, review submission and a staged rollout.

  4. 04

    Support & improve

Crash monitoring, quick fixes, SDK and OS migrations, and a roadmap of improvements driven by what users actually do in the app.
